Monterey sausage pie

I just found a valuable item from when I was a kid! Grandma’s special recipe.

This tasty and filling Monterey Sausage Pie is a delicious and comforting meal that is great for any event.

By mixing tasty sausage, smooth cheeses, and a delicious egg mixture, it’s a dish that everyone will enjoy.

List of items needed:

Amount of Ingredients

1 pound of pork sausage

1 cup of shredded Monterey Jack cheese

Grated sharp cheddar cheese, 1 cup

Onion, finely chopped, 1/2 cup.

Green bell pepper, finely diced (if desired). 1/2 cup

4 big eggs

Two cups of half-and-half.

1 cup of regular flour

1/2 teaspoon of baking powder

Add salt and black pepper according to your preference.

Green onions or chives for decoration (if desired) –

Directions:

Make Sausage and Vegetables:

Cook the sausage in a pan until it is brown and crumbled.

Cook the onions and bell pepper (if using) in the same pan until they are soft.

Put the cooked sausage in a greased pie dish.

Put the cooked vegetables and grated cheeses on top.

Make the egg mixture by mixing the eggs, milk, flour, baking powder, salt, and pepper together.

Pour the beaten eggs over the sausage and cheese in the baking dish.

Cook the pie in a hot oven at 350°F (175°C) for 35-40 minutes, or until it is firm.

Serve: Allow the pie to cool a bit before serving.

Add green onions or chives on top if you like.
